Production Roles
Production roles are the roles that different people have during the process of producing a film.
Camera operator: The camera operator is the person that films the footage in the film. The camera operator works with the storyboard manager to get the correct camera shots, angles and movements in order to produce the correct picture that the director wants to see.
Producer: This is the person that will be in charge of the overall production of the film. The director gives their visual ideas to the director.
Actor: Actors/actresses are the people that will be playing a certain role within a film. This role is vital as they are the forefront of a film and determine how effective a film is.
Storyboarder: This is the person that will put the narrative into graphic pictures. The storyboarder creates the illustrations that are needed in order to tell the narrative. The camera operator works with the storyboarder to get the idea of what they are required to film.
Hair, make up & costume: This person is in charge of doing the hair and make up for the actors. This role is important as the costumes of characters play a big part in film and make up can create many effects.
Editor: The editor gets the film footage and edits each scene in order to create effect upon the audience. The editor will work with the camera operator and sound technician in order to create the scenes and shots which the director was planning to see.
Sound technician: This is the person that will create the sound in each of the scenes. They work with the storyboarder to help decide which types of sounds are required in each scene.
Roles within the group;
Sean: We picked Sean to be the director because he is good at coming up with ideas and has the best idea of how the thriller should turn out. His other roles are sound and editing as the fact that he is the director it will make these roles also suited to him as he'll have an understanding of what sound and editing is needed. He is also the story board manager. He will be acting which is good as we wont be needing an external source to act for us.
Darhyl: We picked Darhyl to be the producer of our thriller because he came up with a lot of the ideas towards our final idea. He will also be the camera operator and in charge of lighting as these roles come together well as the camera operator has the most idea of what type of lighting will be required in each scene.
Sandro: We picked Sandro to be an actor in the film as its best to have someone within your group to act as they'll have a good understanding of what is required. He is also the location manager so he will decide where each scene will be shot and will also help with some of the editing.
Khloe: Khloe has been picked to be the sound technician as she has previous experience with music and understands the concept of sound that is required for a thriller. She will also be doing hair, costume and make up as she also has understanding of this and will have good ideas to make our thriller effective.
Conclusion: As a group we have learnt the definitions of each role within a production, this has helped us understand how each group member can have an input and use their abilities to help the thriller come out well and effectively.

Some good evidence of planning here by assigning roles which will help the group whilst out filming and editing. The roles are defined well and you justify your group choices well by relating to skills and attributes each member of the group has. Make sure as a group you all stick these roles as it will help you in all your production/post-production stages
